Discuss what features and improvements you would like to see into 3.0.x development branch.
Please focus onto performance aspect, not just the search part. Read more in the announcement.

In terms of an enterprise level forum the biggest issues I see are search, which your implementation has fixed nicely, and table locking. The table locking seems to be particularly bad in the post, thread, and pmtext tables.
Another issue is some functionality that has to be disabled on large forums such as who's online etc |

I agree, the table locks need to be addressed ASAP.
My goal is not to switch the table format to InnoDB and use memory tables, but fix the problem at the source and drastically reduce the MySQL tables usage. That solution will eliminate the table locks issues, in an instant. Still we need to have a balance. We cannot put to much strain also onto disks, or else we end up with an Apache server in our hands... I will look into it. If you have other suggestions, please post them here. We are reading the Performance Drive forum, let's talk about performance issues. ![]() I will let you know if it is possible to have them solved with Sphinx and add them to the roadmap guidelines.
