Searchlight 2.1.0 closed beta started today

I just wanted to announce that the closed beta started today. If everything goes well, the new software will be released to public on November 27th, 2009.

It has been a hectic period of time to develop the new version. Regardless the big software changes, I expect very few bugs to be encountered by beta testers. I'm extremely satisfied with the results, so far.

A lot of work was put into this release and nothing was neglected, regarding the performance as well the visual aspects. The search speed was improved by 25%, compared to 2.0.0 version. The entire product is now written using an OOP structure, easy to expand and implement into any software, not just vBulletin.

During the next 2 weeks, I will start to transfer gradually all data to the new product website.
Stay tuned for more exciting news regarding the opening of the new site.

I am extending the beta testing for another week, due to various minor bugs that need to be addressed.

The testers compared version 2.0.0 with the new beta 2.1.0, based on the following factors:
1. The usability of the new Google Like search feature.
2. The improved precision and relevance of the new search results.
